Science Teachers of Missouri (STOM) has the following board positions coming open for election: Nominations for the 2012 elections. Positions open for nominations this year are: Area Directors - 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Elementary (2 year term), College (1 year term), Supervisory (2 year term), Recording Secretary (2 year term), High School (2 year term), plus Vice President (four year term).
This is a great time to become involved in STOM.

Information about the positions
Vice President: The Vice President assists the President-Elect with the planning of the Fall conference; Succeeds to the office of President-Elect at the end of their term (The Presidential Chain is a total of a 4 year commitment. The chain proceeds from Vice President to President-Elect to President to Past President); Serves on the Interface Steering Committee; and chairs the Public Relations Committee.
Elementary Director (2 year term): The Elementary Director is a part of the board of directors for STOM. The director attends the winter and summer board meetings plus the fall conference. In addition, the Elementary Director serves on committees of STOM.
College Level Director (1 year term, then may run for two year term): The College Level Director is a part of the board of directors for STOM. The director attends the winter and summer board meetings plus the fall conference. In addition, the College Level Director serves on committees of STOM.
Supervisory Director (2 year term): The Supervisory Director is a part of the board of directors for STOM. The director attends the winter and summer board meetings plus the fall conference. In addition, the Supervisory Director serves on committees of STOM.
High School Director (2 year term): The High School Director is a part of the board of directors for STOM. The director attends the winter and summer board meetings plus the fall conference. In addition, the High School Director serves on committees of STOM.
Recording Secretary (2 year term): The Recording Secretary is responsible for maintaining a full and adequate record of the official business, actions, and meetings of the Board of Directors; report the activities of STOM to the National Science Teachers Association; and have such duties as shall from time to time be determined by the President and/or the Board of Directors.
District Director positions: District Directors serve on the board of directors of STOM. The District Directors have the responsibility of holding a regional conference for their district in addition to attending the winter and summer board meetings plus the fall conference.
